Activities for Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!  Your mental health is important, and it is good to take care of it! Peer Health Educators have events for you to take care of yourself in the weeks preceding finals! Some of these events will be mild quiet zones so you can study while participating at the same time. Studying is a form of self-care as long as you do so in a healthy way.

Embroidery (Thursday, May 2nd 1-3 pm in LIB 114) Release your stress by creating art using needlework! And validating messages. No skill is required and all materials will be provided!

Bring Your Own Mug Tea (Tuesday, May 7th 3-5 pm in LIB 114) Relax while studying with some complimentary tea (please bring your own mug)! We will have information on the various types of tea, and you can bring home your own mix as well. This will be a mild quiet zone to allow for studying during this time.

Bob Ross Style Painting (Wednesday, May 8th 11 am-1 pm in Goodwin Forum NHE 102) Release your stress by creating art using paints! And validating messages. No skill is required and all materials will be provided!

Kinetic Sand (Wednesday ,May 8th 2-4 pm in LIB 114) Sometimes you can get overwhelmed while studying, and that’s alright. Having a hand in kinetic sand or making a little sand castle gives your mind a break that it needs. This will be a mild quiet zone to allow for studying during this time.

Origami (Thursday, May 9th 3-5 pm in LIB 114) Release your stress by creating art using paper! And validating messages. No skill is required and all materials will be provided!

Meditation Cake Walk (Friday, May 10th 1-3:30 pm in the UC Quad) Walk along a meditative path and bring peace to yourself. The music will stop and if the number you land on gets called, then you win a cupcake or another dessert of your choice!
