Borrow & Renew

Information on borrowing and renewing items from the HSU Library

Campus ID

Your HSU-ID card is your Jack Pass for the bus, on-campus debit card, HSU Library card, Student Rec. Center pass, and door key if you live on campus. It is also required for access to various campus services.

Course Reserves

The Reserves Collection includes items such as books, DVDs, CDs, etc., available for use by enrolled students for limited checkout periods. Through E-Reserves, students in participating classes have around-the-clock online access to many of the materials which an instructor has placed on reserve for outside reading. The Print Reserve readings are available whenever the Library is open.

HSU Press

Humboldt State University Press publishes high-quality, open-access scholarly, intellectual, and creative works by or in support of our campus community. HSU Press operations and publications support the HSU mission and vision to improve the human condition and our environment by promoting understanding of social, economic, and environmental issues.

Humboldt Digital Scholar

Humboldt Digital Scholar (HDS) is a digital archive that collects and provides persistent and reliable access to the research and scholarship of faculty, staff, and students of Humboldt State.

Interlibrary Loan Overview

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) obtains research materials (books, journal articles, DVDs) from other libraries when the items are unavailable or not owned by the HSU Library. It is a free service available to current students faculty and staff.

Learning Center

Free tutoring services for students in general and subject-specific areas - math, science, engineering, and writing - as well as supplemental instruction for specific courses.

Library Study Rooms

Reserve a Study Room. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance. For non-reserved time slots, rooms are available first come, first served up to two hours per day.

Lost & Found

The Library maintains a lost & found area for property left in the Library.

Purchase Request Form

The Humboldt State University Library welcomes suggestions for materials which support teaching, study, and research at the University. Requests are evaluated by Collection Development.

SkillShops

SkillShops are 50 minute drop-in workshops offered to introduce and develop skills in important areas for student success.
